Hello I am wondering how do I go about getting help through your program.

    • Julie Purcell August 12, 2014 at 2:55 pm Permalink

Hi Lashawn, thanks so much for reaching out. The first step would be getting a referral from an agency, pastor, or rabbi. Here is a list of agencies: http://newdigsministry.org/get-help/how-to-get-help/referring-agencies/ They can then set up an appointment for you to come in. If you have any questions, just give us a call at (717) 620-9735 and we can walk you through it. Thanks!

I have a mother and son at our church that could use furniture. A single bed, 4 kitchen chairs , night stand. Is this something you can help with ?

      Barb

      • wes October 21, 2014 at 8:16 pm Permalink

        Hi Barb,
Have your pastor call (717) 620-9735 and refer the mother. Please have the pastor leave his name, church name and phone number. Also have the pastor leave the mother’s name with spelling and phone number. Also there is a referral and liability form on our website at http://newdigsministry.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/ReferralandLiabilityWaiver2014.pdf. This form needs to be filled in by your pastor and given to the mother so that she can bring it to her appointment at New Digs. A volunteer will call the mother and schedule an appointment at New Digs. Please call the above number if there are any questions. Thank you for contacting New Digs.

My husband and I are currently in a shelter. When we get our housing voucher (as soon as our baby is born within two weeks) You are one of the agencies they’re referring us too. We have absolutely NOTHING but clothes and stuff for our baby that is also limited. What exactly is it that you help with? We don’t have any money due to my husbands work hours being limited because of winter. I’m trying to prepare for getting things but at times it because over whelming for myself.

Hi! A good friend of mine is home recovering from spinal surgery, she has no family that can help her and she is relying in friends to help her. We can’t always be there and we have been looking for an organization that may have volunteers that visit people in these situations to help them dress and cook etc. She has very limited mobility right now. Everything that we have looked at so far is for seniors only or their cost is out of reach, and her health insurance will not cover home health aid. Her income is limited while she is on short term disability. I know that this is not a service that you provide, but perhaps you may know of one that does. We are also in need of a microwave so that she could heat up pre-made meals. Any guidance you could provide would be helpful. Thank you so much, and thank you for all of the great work that you do!

Try the Office of Aging where she resides. Sorry, we don’t provide the kind of service she needs.

Do you have appliances such as a fridge

    • wes November 9, 2017 at 9:06 pm Permalink

We never know what will be in our inventory on any particular day; however, we seldom have large appliances like a fridge. We mostly have furniture, housewares and linens. If you would like to come to New Digs, please get referred to New Digs. For referral directions, please see the webpage at http://newdigsministry.org/get-help/how-to-get-help/.
